TODAY - REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

The Act of  Remembrance will take place at 10.50am at Holy Trinity followed by the Sung Mass. Those who have attended Mass at All Saints’ are very welcome to participate in the Act of Remembrance as are others, please feel free to leave afterwards if you wish, you are, of course, very welcome to stay for the Sung Mass which follows.

Would you like to do the foliage Advent ring at Holy Trinity for Sunday 1st December and keep it fresh throughout Advent and Christmas?  The task could be shared.  If you are interested please see Diane Brown.

HAMS


Our Men’s group, meet on Monday 11th  November at 8.15pm in Trinity Hall. We look forward to welcoming Jamie Campbell who will talk about the work of SASRA, The Soldiers’ and Airmens’ Scripture Readers Association. Come along and learn about the Christian engagement of this organisation within our armed forces. Supper type refreshments conclude the evening finishing at 10pm. We look forward to seeing you.

SINGING GROUP

Fr William would like to form a small group of singers to assist with the music at Holy Trinity. The plan is to meet either shortly before or after Sunday Mass and run through forthcoming music so as to be able to lead the congregation. You don’t need to be the new Pavarotti or Maria Callas, just enthusiastic and happy to learn new things! Please speak to Fr William or Tony Evans if interested.

CHRISTMAS OPEN EVENING

The Triangle Café and Christian Resource Centre, 64 Kingsmead. Wednesday 13th November 6.30pm - 9pm. There will be lots of great products to see and buy. Please support this annual event if you can.

FATHER GLYN WILLIAMS

At the September PCC meeting, Fr William proposed, and the PCC agreed unanimously, that Fr Glyn should be given the title “Honorary Assistant Priest”. We are very grateful to Fr Glyn for his willingness to continue serving as part of the parish ministry team.

A limited stock of THE REAL ADVENT CALENDAR and CHARITY CHRISTMAS CARDS are now available from the Traidcraft Table in Holy Trinity.

Buy early to avoid disappointment.

HOLLY FAIR NEXT WEEK
SATURDAY 16th NOVEMBER

IN TRINITY HALL

Thank you for all your kind donations for our stalls. We still need a few more items for our Raffle Hampers - sweet and savoury non-perishable festive food, soft and alcoholic drinks, table napkins etc. Boxes for the hampers and chocolate tombola will remain in the porches until Wednesday. Cakes can be brought to the hall on Saturday morning from 9am. Please come along next Saturday and bring your family and friends. We have a good number of stalls this year and look forward to an enjoyable and successful event.

Guess the weight of the Christmas cake: helper needed (cake will be provided).

A  list of desperately needed essential items is on the notice board in the porch. St John’s have thanked us for our contributions which are helping the community.

HGPCC SECRETARY URGENTLY NEEDED


The PCC needs a secretary by the end of September. The main tasks are: Send out calling notice and agenda items for PCC meetings; Take PCC minutes; Distribute minutes; Do the same for the APCM; Liaise with Vicar & Churchwardens as required. INTERCESSORS NEEDED
